This weekend I participated in the Walk to Empower for Breast Cancer Support. It was really fun. I raised $120 for the cause and earned a cute pink tee shirt. The event started really early on Sunday morning. There were vendors and all types of free giveaways to indulge in before the big walk started. All of the teams had on matching shirts or hats. We decorated our pink tee shirts a couple nights before with puffy paint. They came out pretty good! Even my shirt was kind of cute, which says a lot. I'm normally not very artistic, but I must admit, my shirt was pretty cute!

Once the walk began around 9:15 you could see a mass of pink floating around the National Mall. 45 minutes and 3 miles later we were at the finish line. It felt good to do something for someone else. To walk for women that have been diagnosed, and to show support for a cause that means so much to so many was special. Everyone was walking for someone. Until recently I didn't know of anyone with the disease, and I was proud to walk on behalf of a friend that's been a survivor for a year!!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day as much as I did!

Fabulous Happenings

Whew! What a week it has been so far! The first thing I want to do is send out a HUGE CONGRATS to my husband! As many of you know he is in the Army, and last week he was promoted to a SGT.! How exciting is that?!? I am SO PROUD of him for accomplishing everything he's set out to do. Believe it or not every single goal that he had for himself when we got married has been accomplished. He is such an inspiration to me. His dedication makes me work even harder, and for that I am truly grateful.

We've been so busy lately that I don't even know where to start with a recap.....So I'll promise to do better about posting more frequently. Trust me when I say we do have some VERY (and I do mean VERY) fabulous things going on and I can't wait to share them with all of you!

Fabulous Happenings

Where should I begin? This weekend was pretty good, nothing to fab happened, just some ordinary laid back casual fun. Saturday I made a run to the mall to find something to wear for Easter. That turned out to be a bigger task than I had hoped, but 2 hours later I surfaced with a somewhat decent outfit. (That I am thinking about returning/exchanging). Anywho, after the mall I met up with the hubby and we headed to lunch at Red Robin. Because my dining experience was so amazing I'll have to reserve my critique for a 'Peep This' post. Saturday night was pretty chill, we played Wii and watched some TV. Two things that I hardly have time for during the week.

Sunday, we made our way to a local flea market to pick up some random items. I LOVE flea markets because you always get to find really cool things that you simply CAN NOT find anywhere else. I found a really cool case for my phone, so I was very satisfied with our trip. Sunday afternoon was spent outside. My husband detailed our cars and I caught up on this Summer's hottest trends with Glamour magazine. Later, we made our way to the tennis courts for a game, and we ended the night with take out from Famous Dave's.

Tomorrow, we'll be heading to NC to spend some time with my Mother-In-Law, can't wait! I love a good (quick) road trip!

Fabulous Happenings

This weekend was pretty great! I started my weekend early by taking my weekly lunch break with my co-workers. Every Friday we all eat lunch together. This past Friday we decided to dine at Hinode, a Sushi Buffet in Bethesda, MD. It was amazing, $15 well spent. Every piece of Sushi was absolutely delicious, and their tempura is to die for. LOVE IT!!

Saturday, I interviewed a young lady that's thinking about starting her own business. She's a very sweet girl and I hope she makes the best decision for her. I had lots of errands to run on Saturday. Stops were made at Food Lion and Target. I picked up some very fun, semi obnoxious house slippers at Target. My dog will probably destroy them before I get a chance to really fall in love with them. Saturday night, my hubby and I hung out with our neighbors. We had wine and played Phase 10, if you've never played, you have no idea what you're missing!

There isn't much of a recap for Sunday. I'd like to welcome my newest team member to MK, I hope this business gives you everything you need and more!

The Beginning

I was going to start off my first post with a clever or witty opening about our new friendship, but I decided to skip all that and get right to it....

This weekend was probably the.best.weekend.ever. I attended Career Conference in Baltimore, MD with all of my MK sisters. It was a BLAST!! Not only did I become more appreciative of what I have in MK, but I also became more aware of how absolutely fabulous all of the women are. It is such a great thing to be surrounded by positive women.

I also had the pleasure of dining with another fabulous woman on Sunday, my Sister For Life (SFL), not to be confused with a BFF. I believe the title BFF should be strictly held for teenagers, because as many women know a BFF can come and go, but Sisters are forever. More on my dinner and SFL later......

Okay, Two Things:

1: Work Smart - I learned this weekend that it is not good enough to just work, but you must work smart. There is a difference. Find a routine that works for you and stick with it. "Rome was not built in a day.", and my business won't be either. Work Smart. Work Hard. Work Fast.

2: Shine On - For the first time in my life I feel like my time is right now! It is my time to shine. It is my time to expect great things, and to receive great things. I am so full of life, happiness and positive energy. My dreams are my reality. This is my year, I will get it done, I will Shine On!
